Panhandle Restaurant Assn. Restaurant Roundup
The Panhandle Restaurant Association, in conjunction with Atmos Energy, Ben E. Keith Food Company, First United Bank, and Affiliated Foods, will again sponsor the annual Restaurant Round Up. The Round Up, now in its 12th year, will be held at the
Rex Baxter Building at the Amarillo Tri-State Fairgrounds, 3301 E. 10th, on Thursday,
March 7th. Doors open at 5:00 PM, with the event ending at 9:00 PM.
The event will showcase over 50 restaurants and wineries, providing guests an opportunity to try a large variety of local restaurant favorites. In addition, guests will be able to enjoy watching what has become a highlight of the night-the live chef competition, the “Battle of the Chefs.” Local culinary experts will judge the event.
For our student culinary showcase this year we will have students from area high schools. They will participate by creating a dish with the main ingredient supplied and the winner will have the best tasting dish.
The evening will feature plenty of seating a large dance floor, and live music by Amarillo band Insufficient Funds.
This charity event benefits area culinary classes and scholarship programs, as well as several local charities and continues to grow in attendance and popularity every year.
Tickets are available for $30 at www.panhandletickets.com, at participating restaurants including Macaroni Joe’s, Joe Taco, Joe Daddy’s and either La Fiesta Grande location. Tickets may also be purchased at the door on the night of the event.
In return for a donation of three cans to food brought to the door, attendees will receive a FREE commemorative wine glass for use in the wine tasting. The donated canned food will go to Faith City Mission.
