Friends of Fogelberg XII Sept. 10th at the Globe News Center for the Arts

The group takes its name from the late Dan Fogelberg, a popular American musician, song-writer, composer and multi-instrumentalist who died from prostate cancer in 2007. Amarillo musician Joe Ed Coffman, a longtime fan of Fogelberg’s music, started the benefit concert as a way to honor the last wishes of Fogelberg, who urged men to take measures to prevent and detect prostate cancer.

The purpose of Amarillo’s ‘Friends of Fogelberg’ benefit concert has always been about raising money to prevent prostate cancer, showcasing the best of the local music scene has been the primary way to get the community interested in helping out for the past decade.
