Nice event Tuesday Sept 10th, to honor Comanche Chief, Quanah Parker.
As you know, my family has a longtime and lasting close friendship with Parker descendents
which developed with my late Father’s many statues and paintings of Quanah, as well as other
Parker family members who became dear family friends.

Here are the details you are welcome to share with your readers.
CITY PROCLAMATION & CEREMONY: Honoring Quannah Parker

WHAT: City officials will formally issue a Proclamation to honor famed
Comanche Chief/ Statesman, Quanah Parker in recognition of
State of Texas and Governor’s office recognizing the second Saturday of
September state-wide as QUANAH PARKER DAY.

At the City presentation, the proclamation will be presented to
King Hill, writer/historian, and son of renown Quanah Parker sculptor
And Amarillo resident, Nancy Boles, who is a great granddaughter of
Quanah Parker and longtime friend of Hill family. Boles will be
Accompanied by her adult daughter who will speak a blessing to the
City in Comanche language. They will also present a “ PAHO”, a
Prayer feather to the city to be displayed with the Quanah Parker
Bronze statue given to the city by the Hill family last year. A possible site
For the statue under discussion is the Amarillo International Airport.

WHEN: This Tuesday, September 10
1PM – 1st order of business for City Council
