National Hat Day @ National Hat Day
Jan 15 all-day

Hang on to your hats and celebrate in style on January 15. Millions will participate in National Hat Day.
• Hats may be worn for safety and protection, religious reasons, ceremonial reasons, warmth or fashion.
• In the Middle Ages, hats were an indicator of social status.
• In the military, hats may denote one’s nationality, branch of service, rank and/or regiment.
• A Thebes tomb painting depicts one of the first pictorials of a hat. The painting shows a man wearing a conical straw hat.
• Structured hats for women began to be worn in the late 16th century.
• Millinery is the designing and manufacture of hats.
• The term “milliner” derived from the city of Milan, Italy. The best quality hats were made in Milan in the 18th century.
• Millinery began as traditionally a woman’s occupation, as the milliner not only created hats and bonnets but also chose lace, trim and accessories to complete an outfit.
• In the middle of the 1920s, to replace the bonnets and wide-brimmed hats, women began to wear smaller hats that hugged their heads.

Le Chateau Ribbon Cutting & 10th Year Anniversary

Ribbon Cutting
Thursday, January 16, 2020
It is hard to believe 10 years has passed since we opened our doors to serve Amarillo and the surrounding communities.

When we began, it was with a vision to give pets a fun vacation and raise the bar in pet care so pet parents could experience less guilt when boarding their pets. We envisioned a 5 star pet resort operating much like a people hotel with pets checking in and out, suite amenities, fun activities, housekeeping, and even a turndown service. We saw pets playing together in safe supervised group times with trained staff, and exceptional customer service from reception and concierge. Our mission became “To give pets a fun, safe stay so you can have peace of mind while away!”

That is still our mission today. We strive for each customer to have the same great experience every time, to build relationships, and keep the pets in our care safe and happy. It really is a new decade of service, though, because fortunately our industry has made great strides in a positive direction. Pet parents demand more for their pets. They want play days and vacations, high quality care, and to know their pets are interacting and enjoying life. Quality pet resorts, like ours, are now the standard and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Now we have the opportunity to do even more. With technological tools at our fingertips we developed a smartphone app. Clients can easily send vet records, order a pampering service, view playgroup webcams, and even use GPS to let us know their estimated time of arrival. Customers’ needs are prioritized as we look for ways to offer more convenience. We have brought back full service grooming for daycare and vacationing pets and will start a new transportation service in February. Additionally, pets lives are made even better with our new Enrichment Program filled with stimulating puzzles, activities, and exercise.

Le Chateau Pet Resort management and staff is excited about the next ten years and continuing to grow with our clients, their desires, and their pets’ life styles. As always, thank you for sharing your pets with us!
