Fencing laws in Texas topic of webinar
AgriLife Extension’s Lashmet to share expertise
Written by Kay Ledbetter, 806-677-5608, skledbetter@ag.tamu.edu
Fencing and the Texas laws that go along with it will be the topic of a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management Unit webinar.
Fencing for livestock will be part of the webinar.
The “Fence Law” webinar is part of the Texas Range Webinar Series, scheduled the first Thursday of each month from noon to 1 p.m., said Megan Clayton, AgriLife Extension range specialist and webinar coordinator, Corpus Christi.
Tiffany Dowell Lashmet, AgriLife Extension agricultural law specialist, Amarillo, will be the presenter. Lashmet is the host of the popular podcast “Ag Law in the Field” and author of the blog “Texas Agriculture Law Blog.” She also conducts the Ranchers Leasing Workshop, which can be found online.
“Texas fence law is an area of much importance and inaccurate information,” Lashmet said. “This webinar will offer an overview of Texas fence law and highlights how the law applies to common issues such as livestock versus auto collisions on the roadway, estray livestock, neighbor fencing disputes and more.”
No Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be offered during this webinar, so attendance is free for all.
For more information on the webinars, contact Clayton at megan.clayton@ag.tamu.edu.
