Walt Howard’s 40th Anniversary at News Channel 10, September 15th 2020
- Born in Kansas, grew up in Iowa, moved to Amarillo in 1974 (Amarillo HS graduate)
- Started at KFDA in 1979 as an overnight reporter (he listened to police scanners in the newsroom and if something happened he would run out to go shoot it)
- Among his favorite stories are trips to the Persian Gulf with a squadron from Cannon Air Force Base and his documentary on a local World War II veteran who returned to France to find the people who helped him escape after he was shot down during the D-Day invasion.
- You can find more details in a recent interview he did on his 40th anniversary on The Chat >> https://www.newschannel10.com/video/2020/09/11/chat-walt-howard-celebrates-years-newschannel/?fbclid=IwAR3KueK7Br4gpfzgEOIATMtvHbzesb6–J_3pFZffWw7fQVL6bZ2dHE9qQE
