National Tourism Day

The Texas Travel Information Center and the Amarillo Convention & Visitors Council will be celebrating National Tourism Rally Day with fun and exciting activities beginning with a Tourism Trade Show. There will be approximately twenty booths from Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle that will be showcasing their tourism attraction.


Other events will include live entertainment featuring the Golden Spread Chorus, Tucker Yeldell, the gold prospector from the musical drama “TEXAS”, a cow chip tossing contest, a Texas style ring toss, see an old fashion chuckwagon complete with cowboy history, door prizes and more!


At 11:00 a.m. the Amarillo Proclamation will be read by Mayor Harpool, Amarillo Chamber President & CEO, Gary Molberg will speak on tourism in the Panhandle, honored guests will be recognized and at 11:15a.m. a Ribbon Cutting will take place with the assistance of the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce.  Visitors will receive a free Texas State Map, a Texas Travel Guide and be eligible for a grand prize drawing.  The Travel Information Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The trade show and other activities will be from 10a.m. - 4 p.m.  This event will be covered by local news media.  KGNC AM & FM and the Eagle Radio stations will be live at the center covering this fun event.
